I believe it was last year that I stumbled upon "spectator drags" videos on Youtube. I had never seen this before and they are very entertaining to watch. It's like a drag race but in a 1-lap oval. Genius. It must be a New England thing from what I can gather. Here's a good video of edge-of-your-seat action from...Maine? Yep.

Have any of you attended/raced in one of these things??

Are the finish lines staggered? Doesn't seem fair to the guy on the outside if they're not.

I don't think it is. But it seems like for the finals (in this video at least) they did multiple races with alternating inside/outside.

YES. Love these races. I used to go to a demolition derby event a while ago where they did Figure-8 races, trailer races, etc. But my favorite was, by far, the spectator drags. It is even more fun to watch in person.
